Homework:
- SAT Vocab SAT/OMM #2 - due: Oct. 30

Monday

  • Take a quiz on SAT/OMM vocab #s 1 and 2.
  • Continue reading the novel.
Tuesday - Wednesday
  • I was absent Tuesday and you read chapter 2. You also answered the questions given that day in your reading notebook. You also received the SAT/OMM Week 3 vocabulary.  Please study those and take notes in your vocabulary notebook. Use the format I gave you.
  • Today, Wednesday, we will discuss chapter 2 and hopefully continue to read the novel.
Thursday and Friday
  • We continue reading chapters in the novel and answering questions in your reading notebook.

Homework:
- SAT Vocab notes on SAT and OMM words #2 - due: Oct. 23

Monday

  • Take a vocabulary quiz.
  • For the last several days, we have been reading about John Steinbeck, the Great Depression and the migrant experience. We will finish discussion on these topics today.
Tuesday
  • I will assign a book to each student to borrow and read during class only as I only have a class set of Of Mice and Men
  • We will start reading the book today.
Wednesday - Friday
  • We will continue to read Of Mice and Men, and answer and discuss guide questions. 
  • On Thursday, you should be ready with your 2nd draft of the literary analysis essay we have been working on for the last several days. You will submit the essay on www.turnitin.com.

Monday
  • Write an expository essay.
  • If students finish early, they need to continue writing the first draft.
Tuesday
  • Complete "The Flood" and John Steinbeck biography questions.
  • Read about "The Great Depression."

  • Go over expository essay rubric.
